We are hiring an experienced Virtual Bookkeeper (or two ✌🏻) to join our team at Simply Booked as our client roster grows.
You will oversee and complete the monthly bookkeeping process for multiple clients to help us meet deadlines and communicate efficiently with clients and our team.
We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented and produces high-quality work. You must have reliable internet and a working computer. You must understand (and adore) the month-end close process - from categorizing transactions in the bank feed to reconciling bank and credit card statements, reviewing Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements, and providing consistent and detailed deliverables each month. And after those deliverables are sent out, you better be ready for an epic dance party each month! 💃🏼

Virtual Bookkeeper Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Categorize revenue and expense transactions
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Provide clients with YTD and MTD P&L Reports, checking for accuracy and correcting formatting
- Continuous audit of monthly bookkeeping processes to identify areas for improvement
- Meet all deadlines based on client agreements
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients on a regular basis (via email, Slack, and Zoom)
- All other tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
- Xero Advisor Certified and/or QuickBooks ProAdvisor, preferred
- Two or more years of small business bookkeeping experience
- Strong accounting software and Excel (or Google Sheets) skills
- Enjoys working in a virtual and paperless environment with cloud-based systems
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Self-starter who loves to work independently and collaboratively
- Active & energetic learner
The Fine Print:
- The pay for this position is a starting rate of $25-30 per hour, with the potential to switch to a flat rate per client.
- The job type is a 1099 contractor to start, with room to grow into a part-time or full-time position.
- The time required is 10-15 hours per month for 3-5 clients to start, but would ideally grow to 20-50 hours per month as you take more clients.
- Training is provided via Zoom or recorded videos. We expect you to be a fast learner, take detailed notes, and ask proper questions during training. Once working independently, you should be able to do research before questions are asked.
- The start date is flexible!
